Islamabad: The speakers at a seminar highlighted key perspectives on the legal, historical, and humanitarian aspects of the Kashmir dispute and suggested strategic shifts to support the Kashmir cause.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar titled “Understanding Complexities of Jammu and Kashmir Dispute.” was organized by India Study Centre (ISC) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), in partnership with the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), today.
The speakers reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kashmiri people, calling for a just solution based on UN resolutions. The speakers condemned India’s actions in altering the region’s demographics, labeling these efforts as violations of international law.
They emphasized a strategic, multifaceted approach for Pakistan, including proactive diplomacy and greater engagement with the international community.
The speakers examined India’s mala fide claims on Kashmir, human rights abuses, and India’s fictitious development-based narrative under Modi’s government.
The seminar further emphasized Pakistan’s role in advocating for Kashmiri rights on international platforms and engaging civil society and youth in this effort.
The speakers included Director General of ISSI Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, Dr Khurram Abbas, Director of ISC, Chairman of the ISSI Board of Governors, Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Dr Sarwat Rauf, HoD, International Relations, NUML.
